The Florida Keys is made up of several hundred islands that lie just beyond the southwestern tip of Florida. Marathon, Islamorada, Key Largo, Big Pine Key and Key West are only a few of the many popular tropical destinations that millions of tourists travel to every year in search of the perfect island paradise getaway that we all dream about. Well, it's time to stop being part of the crowd that gathers to hear stories of friends' wonderful travels to this lush turquoise and emerald vacation haven, filled with dolphin sightings, exciting nightlife happenings, crave-inducing fresh seafood meals and many other sun kissed adventures, and take a trip yourself!

Key Largo, the northernmost of the islands, is centered between the Everglades National Park and North America's only living coral barrier reef. This makes Key Largo one of the most fascinating locations to dive, so much so that they've dubbed themselves the "Dive Capital of the World". The longest of the Keys at 33 miles long, Key Largo offers more dive and snorkel guided tours than you can read through in a day and unique experiences that can only be found on Key Largo. Once you're in off the boat and showered up, venture over to the Caribbean Club, made famous by the 1948 movie "Key Largo." This is one of the best places to grab a drink, socialize and dance the night away with old friends or new acquaintances.

Islamorada is also a popular dive spot, but is famed for the fabulous fishing found there. This island is possibly the only place on Earth where it is possible to reel in a sailfish in the morning, and then venture into the back-country to snag some bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook and redfish in just inches of water, making Islamorada more than deserving of the title of The Sport Fishing Capital of the World. Also, one-of-a-kind shopping venues lie in wait here, along with relaxing tiki huts scattered up and down the mile markers serving scrumptious food and delicious drinks while live music carries through the air.

Marathon is a ten-mile-long island city and the midpoint of the Florida Keys. Locals will refer to their island oasis as the "heart of the keys", both in location and lifestyle. Fishing, diving, snorkeling, sailing, boating, swimming, hiking, dining, dancing, shopping and just frolicking in the sun are all favorite pastimes that can be complete here.

Key West is located at the end of the archipelago and is home to some of the most fascinating traditions, real estate, and attractions in America. The southernmost point in the United States is found in Key West and is labeled with a giant marker painted red and black and reading "90 miles to Cuba". The atmosphere retains the relaxed island attitude that the other Keys possess, but with a little more up beat flare for festivity. Key West and the rest of the Florida Keys are a great inspiration for artists worldwide, and many have opened up shop on the islands. Be sure to browse through a couple on your visit. The Sunset Celebration is held every night at Mallory Dock where jugglers, mimes, magicians, street artists, locals and tourists all line up to witness the breathtaking sunset that seems to shine brighter when setting. Once it is officially night, the city comes alive with musical performances, dancing, drinking and good times to be had by all as the array of streets, sidewalk cafes, open-air bars, legendary pubs and world-renowned restaurants welcome in all ready for a night to remember.

Whether you are looking for a vacation full of adventure and excitement, outdoor exploration or relaxing, sun bleached hangouts and tiki huts to kick back at, the Florida Keys are sure to have the perfect recipe for a memorable vacation, worthy of storytelling and picture passing for months to come.
